The article is devoted to outlining the principles and recommendations of respect for

human rights and the rule of law in the information society. These principles may be

taken into account as the guidelines during the normative and legal base development in

Ukraine’s information sphere. There was made a theoretical analysis of separate chapters

of the Declaration on human rights and the rule of law in the information society,

approved in Strasburg on May 13, 2005 by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of

Europe.
