The principles of local self-government make up the system of the fundamental bases

and ideas. They are fixed by laws or appear from them, determine organization and activity

of the community, as well as of the bodies formed by the citizens and regulate local affairs in

the interests of the population. On the whole the system of such principles includes

democratic bases, set by the Constitution, the European charter of local self-government

and specified in the Law "On local self-government in Ukraine".
