ON THE BERESTEJS’KA CHURCH UNIA AND ITS CONSEQUENCES (TO 410TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS APPROVAL)

In the article political and legal issues of the 1596 Berestejs’ka unia have been
highlighted, namely the reasons of its conclusion, contents, essence, estimation and
consequences for the public and political structure of Ukraine, and also for the Ukrainian
church status. The authors emphasize that they don’t claim the all-round elucidation of this
very issue, but only express their own views.
