The problem of human dignity as an important anthropological characteristic of Man and
the source of her/his natural rights and freedoms is actual at the present stage of the
mankind’s development. The study of the human dignity and human rights understanding by
the philosophers of law of the last centuries is of great value in the process of this issue
research. This article is devoted to the study of different viewpoints concerning human
dignity, as well as human rights (from VI cent. BC to XIII cent. AD).
