ISSUES OF LEGAL PROVISION OF THE ACTIVITY OF THE SENTENCE ENFORCEMENT INSTITUTIONS

The legal base of the activity of the sentence enforcement institutions is analysed in this
article. The author comes to the conclusion that special law on crime prevention has not
been adopted yet. And regulation of these very issues by the subordinate legislation
contradicts Ukraine’s Constitution. Because of the aforementioned problems, a great
intrinsic potential of such institutions hasn’t been properly used for the fulfilment of the tasks
provided by the criminal and criminal executive legislation. Some propositions as to the
removal of these drawbacks are presented.
