In the article the issues concerning the possibility of removal of doubts and contradictions

of sentence by the courts of appeals and cassation instances are analysed. On the basis of the

analysed sources the conclusion about the necessity of solving the questions as to the removal

of doubts and contradictions of sentence by the courts of control stages are made.

Corresponding amendments to the current Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine are proposed.
